【不离】法王如意宝：念《普贤行愿品》的人，邪魔外道不可能摧毁他

“If One’s Mind Has Not Become a Demon, Then There Is Not a Single Outer Demon”
当今时代，经常有人信口开河，给别人说：“我看到这里有鬼、那里有魔，必须要修一个降伏法……”
In the present era, there are many people with loose tongues who tell others, “I can see a spirit here, a demon there— we must practice a wrathful method to subdue them.”
这些人可能是着魔或破戒了，
These people may be under the influence of Mara or have broken their precepts;
以至于神志不清，到处胡说八道，这对佛教有很大的危害。
as a result, they are in a confused state of mind and talk nonsense wherever they go. This brings great harm to Buddhism.
所以，我们要对因果作详细取舍，
We need to have a precise understanding of the effects of actions,
切切不可助长这种非法邪说。
and we must never foster these wrong views that contradict the Dharma.
不然，长此下去，我们身边就会布满许多恶人，
Otherwise, as this continues, we will be surrounded by scoundrels.
他们会欺骗无数善良的人们，害人害己，为祸不浅。
They will deceive innumerable kindhearted people, harm themselves and others, and be disasters waiting to happen.
要知道，我们之所以修行，就是想用大悲心来利益众生，令其免受苦苦、行苦、坏苦的折磨，
You need to understand that we practice because we aspire to benefit living beings through great compassion and to free them from the torments of the suffering of suffering, the suffering of conditioned existence, and the suffering of change.
而不是想以嗔心降伏鬼魔，或装神弄鬼，假装有神通。
We do not practice to subdue spirits or demons with anger, or act mysterious and pretend to have powers.
有些人大言不惭地说：“我今天看见这个魔，昨天看见那个鬼，然后我念了一下解缚咒，马上就把它吓跑了……”
Some people shamelessly boast, “I saw this demon today and saw that spirit yesterday, then I chanted the Vajrapani mantra and immediately I scared it away.”
这种人见魔见鬼的分别念越来越强，
As these people’s discriminative minds that see demons and spirits become stronger,
并且自赞毁他的心越来越重，
and as they praise themselves and scorn others more and more,
这正说明他已经着魔了。
these are signs that they are already under the influence of Mara.
一个人若真具有大慈大悲心，以及对三宝的诚挚信心，
If someone really possesses great love and compassion and true conviction in the Three Jewels,
那即便虚空和大地都布满了鬼魔，对他也不会造成任何损害。
then even if spirits and demons pervade space and land, this person will not be harmed in any way.
尤其是念《普贤行愿品》的人，邪魔外道不可能摧毁他。
In particular, a person who chants the Aspiration of Bodhisattva Samantabhadra cannot be destroyed by evil spirits or heretics.
退一步说，哪怕你真正遇到了鬼魔，也不应该对它生起害心，并千方百计地将其灭除，
Besides, if you really do encounter spirits and demons, you should not wish them harm and then use all possible means to exterminate them.
而应以慈悲心对待它们，观想自己的身体化为甘露统统布施给它们，令其获得安乐与满足。
Instead, you should treat them with compassion and love and visualize your own body transformed into amrita; then offer this completely to them so they may obtain peace, happiness, and contentment.
如此断除我执，才是真正的降妖伏魔。
Only eradicating attachment to the self in this way can truly subdue demons.
要知道，三界中最大的恶魔，就是我执。
Know that the greatest evil demon in the three realms of existence is attachment to the self.
一切恶魔和鬼神，都是我执的“部下”。
All demons and spirits are the minions of that attachment.
我们天天与这个大魔王朝夕相处、形影不离，
We live day and night with this great demon king, who accompanies us like a shadow.
除了他以外，就再也没有一个外在之魔了。
Apart from this demon king, there is no other demon out there.
米拉日巴也曾说：“如果自己的心没有变成魔，那外境上没有任何一个魔。”
Milarepa said, “If one’s mind has not become a demon, then there is not a single outer demon.”
